The Albany Gnostic Centre offers classes for anyone interested in learning about Gnosis. Classes are held weekly and begin with an introduction. With each new week a new topic is treated. Topics start with the fundamentals and progress there upwards towards the more esoteric.
Gnosis is an ancient greek word that means “knowledge”. But rather, a knowledge that is acquired from direct experience and self-revelation. The Gnostic knowledge is one that does not require you to practice some ancient belief system or religion. It is a contemporary tradition that aims at developing of all of our human and spiritual possibilities.
The first few topics are the most important, as these are the foundations of Gnosis which will later become the base of a student’s inner spiritual work. The Gnostic classes present us with the study and the practice of a set of universal principles of self-discovery and inner development. Such principles are found in the sciences, philosophies, arts and spiritual traditions of human cultures throughout history.
By putting the previously mentioned universal principles into action in our lives, one generates real, immediate and lasting positive change, as well as a growing level of freedom and happiness.
The curriculum listed below is offered as a weekly course. It serves as a foundation for further study of esotericism and the science and ethics of meditation in a more in-depth manner.
Anyone is welcome to attend. However, as the classes and practices build on one another, consistent weekly attendance is recommended. If you decide not to continue with the classes at any point, you are totally free to stop attending with no further obligations.
